“To Belong” was first born from a simple idea: “What if all humans had their own animal form?”. Since that moment three years ago, the idea has grown into a whole world with multiple characters and stories.

 

In 2014 I wanted to try out the story´s potential and adapted the idea into an animated crossover video, a side hobby that I have been dabbling with for a few years. It is an unconventional method of storytelling, but it is a very effective way to polish one's editing, digital composting and storyboarding skills (especially for us folks who suck at animating).

This was my very first attempt at bringing the world of "To Belong" to life. Imagine it is as a pilot of sorts. And you do not have to worry about spoilers! Even though the main plot will be the same in the upcoming original show, many things will differ: the scenes, the action, the dialogue, the designs - pretty much everything will be much more polished in the new version.
