Why support this project?
- Because you like the story/plot/concept and want to see it´s full potential.
- You love animal/human transformations (without cheap glow effect).
- You think hand drawn 2D animation is awesome.
- You want to support diversity in animation (especially LGBT+ positivity).
- You want to help new talent (above all women) break into the animation industry.
...............
How will this work?
In late July 2017 I will relaunch the Kickstarter and then it will be a 6 weeks long race to reach the budget goal. The goal will be reached when people like you guys give pledges of an amount of money of your choosing. Anything from 1.50$ and more are welcome!
I may also add that you have nothing to lose by pledging for the project. If the Kickstarter is a flop then you will get all your money back (every single cent). But if the Kickstarter is a success then you will know for a fact that you:
- Have helped me launch my very first project as an independent film studio.
- Will know that you are giving a whole animation team work.
- Can look forward to an amazing episode of a completely unique show.
- Can expect to receive the rewards that you signed up for.
...............
unfortunately I cannot help financially -
Is there any other way that I could help?
Then there is a simple solution: Spread the word! Share the news about the Kickstarter to all your friends and family! Share it on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, etc. The more people hear about the project, the better will the chances of reaching the goal be.
...............
I am too young to pledge - What can I do?
Do what my little sister would do – Ask your parents or other family members for help! Maybe you can convince them to count it as a Christmas present or birthday gift?
...............
What if I pledge and the Kickstarter is a flop?
Then you will simply get back all your money!
...............
Where will the episode be when it's done?
The episode will be available online for free, so the Kickstarter is the only stage that would ever require any money on your part.
...............
You say that your budget is ambitious, but why?
It´s just one episode.
As a content creator I highly value animators/artists/voice actors/etc and their time and talent. Therefore the majority of the money will go to the people that I work with, to compensate for all their time and effort.
...............
Will there be more episodes in the future?
Yes, of course! My end goal is to have the whole of “To Belong” be a 12 part series.
...............
Why 2D and not 3D?
Because I love the art of hand-drawn 2D animation. 3D can be more than gorgeous, but I personally love the feel of traditional animation more.
...............
Will the dialog be in English?
Yes and it will include closed captions, as well as subtitles in 15+ languages.
...............
I have already seen the crossover version -
How will this be any different?
100% original character designs, animation and backgrounds. There will also be voice actors, never before seen scenes, and Victorian inspired fashion. This will basically be my full vision of the show; what it should have been all along. Just the fact that this will be 20-25 minutes instead of 5 is a big deal. There has also happened a lot of changes since I made the very first TB crossover video. For starters - "Jim" is now a girl, "Sinbad" is no longer straight, "Anya" is not a lioness, etc.
...............
Since when is Frey a girl?
I made the change before the summer of 2016. For those who are new; Frey went from being a cis boy to an intersex girl. Up till this point Frey 's gender had never felt "right" and I finally decided to change it. OBS: Jim in the crossover version is still a cis boy.
...............
Will you continue with the crossover version?
The last parts (7 and 8) will be created no matter if the Kickstarter is a success or not.
